Walk Reports

Saturday 28th January, Wadhurst Circular

Fine day; the terrain was quite muddy in certain sections following the recent bouts of rain. There were 3 of us on this walk although due to a "knee playing up", two chose to take the shorter 7 mile walk option after a few miles. An ideal choice for a silent walk through this peaceful area of East Sussex.

Friday 7th April, Petersfield to Liss

A beautiful spring day this Good Friday. We (3) took a leisurely lunch at the Hawley Arms and stopped mid afternoon for a peaceful scenic break. A great day out.

Saturday 8th July - Riddlesdown to Kingswood

Weather very changeable. 3 of us stretched out our lunch break at the Fox to allow the heavy rain to subside, afterwards heading onto Kingswood and finishing off with a drink at the Kingswood Arms.

Saturday 12th August - Kingham to Moreton-in-Marsh

Weather overcast with some sunny spells. 1 joined at Oxford to make 2 in our party. We took a leisurely lunch at the Horse and Groom, Upper Oddington; half hour silent stop at a scenic spot in the afternoon. Finished off with a drink and light meal in Moreton-in-Marsh before catching the train home.

Saturday 10th September - Glynde to Seaford

Lovely sunny day. 3 of us. After lunch and once on the SDW, 2 took a shorter option continuing west to Southease.

Saturday 4th November - Etchingham to Stonegate

2 of us emerged at Etchingham on what was forecast and proved to be a wet day, no break in the rain so we chose to make it a shorter walk ending up at The George Inn, Robertsbridge for a leisurely lunch before our return home to London.

Friday 22nd December - Robertsbridge Circular

2 of us on a clear day; as a consequence of heavier than usual rainfall over the last few weeks the fields soon after Roberstbridge Abbey were flooded, so we backtracked and took a route to the north along higher ground to Bodiam. Lunch at the Bodiam Castle NT tearoom and finished with a Christmas drink at The Ostrich, Robertsbridge before catching the 17:09 home.
