Walk Reports

Sunday 28 April, Kings Sutton Circular

In retrospect possibly not the best choice for a silent walk as for the first 2-3 km or so out of King's Sutton the M40 was quite audible. (I understand that on a "good" day the M40 can be virtually inaudible. Similar to NDW/M20 wind dependency.) Otherwise an enjoyable walk and one which is certainly not short of pubs along the route. Stopped at the Fox, Souldern.

Monday 27 May, Edenbridge to Chiddingstone Causeway

7 walkers of whom 6 were SWC regulars, thus scotching the myth that silent walkers and the rest are mutually exclusive groups. The pleasant new Edenbridge start, through fields, woods and tracks, was approved of by all. At Toys Hill, two tried out a short diversion to a summit viewpoint on the site of the long demolished Weardale Manor, which was recently the site of a ghost hunt. After lunch in the garden of the Fox & Hounds, we came across a village fete on the green at Ide Hill and saw swathes of celandines and bluebells in the woods.

Sunday 30 June, Robertsbridge Circular

5 of us, on this very hot day.

Saturday 17 August, Tisbury Circular

Surprisingly there were just 2 of us on this walk. However a lovely, peaceful and relaxing walk. A good choice for a silent walk; worth repeating next year.
